This challenge is open to every body and everyone!
We believe that every individual has the right to live a healthy, happy, joy-filled life regardless of their race, ethnicity, religious background, sexuality, gender, age, socioeconomic background, physical and cognitive ability, body size, and fitness level.

Learn how intentionally cultivating joy in our thoughts, activities, and relationships can boost our mood, reduce stress levels, and dramatically improve our physical, mental, and social-wellbeing.
Establish Vision and Values Based Goals

Uncover your core values and leverage them to make more purpose-driven, vision-aligned decisions that better reflect your authentic self and more directly contribute to your overall well-being and happiness.
Understand and Manage Motivation

Explore how biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors influence behavior and discover concrete strategies to help shift your motivational drive, navigate obstacles, and create sustainable change.
Embrace Radical Self-Acceptance

Radical self-acceptance is the courageous act of embracing every aspect of oneself, allowing us to let go of shame and judgment, embrace imperfection, and foster flexible perseverance and self compassion.

The 5 Pillars of Change
The In Joy Challenges synthesizes evidence-based practices from multiple behavior management theories and incorporating a socially-responsive and culturally just lens to the process of change.
The challenge is anchored by five fundamental principles, or pillars, which form the bedrock of our approach: Knowledge, Support, Practice, Reflection, and Integration.
These pillars collectively guide and empower individuals on their journey toward whole-person well-being, fostering a transformative experience that is rooted self-understanding, self-compassion, social belonging, and a collective commitment to recognizing the dignity of all persons.

Week 7: Taming the Shame Game

Without roughly 15,000 direct client hours under her belt, Zita is no stranger to helping people navigate complex lifestyle journeys. A multiple award-winning personal trainer and behavior change counsellor, Zita combines her education in sociology, biopsychology, behaviour change management, and exercise science to create a truly biopsychosocial approach to fitness and health that is culturally responsive and socially just.
At the heart of Zita's health philosophy is the belief that all humans are able to thrive when they are given the knowledge, support, resources, and opportunities needed to free themselves from the shackles of shame, stigma, and systemic oppression. We are at our best when we are given ample opportunity to explore our interests, passions, and engage in the limitless possibilities of our own potential.
In this challenge, Zita's goal is to inspire individual growth by helping participants to leverage the power of social belonging and community care, to challenge their ideas of fitness and health, and to reclaim control of their personal visions wellbeing.
